St. Blase Food Pantry

The pantry is located in the basement of the St. Blase parish located in Summit, IL.
The pantry is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, and also is a mobile pantry site for the Greater Chicago Food Depository on a quarterly basis.
The Albertine Sisters in conjunction with Catholic Charities run this food pantry.
SJC supports the pantry with donations of non-perishable foods 2-3 times a year, as well as turkeys and hams during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays. We also provide additional support on a monthly basis as needed, for items that are in great demand.
There are over a hundred families served each day the pantry is open, and new families are always welcome.
On Wednesday nights, a hot meal is also provided to all in need and is generally donated by a local restaurant.
Because of the many families served who have school-aged and younger children, SJC is also able to assist with toys for the Christmas party (thanks to the Share Christmas program), Easter baskets (thanks to donations and preparation by the high school youth group), and many other special outreach opportunities for volunteers from our parish.
